StreetHeart - Empowering homeless through art and technology
StreetHeart is a service concept that gives the underprivileged the power to upload, exhibit and sell their artworks independently. Through public displays spread around the city, their art can reach larger audiences and the public can send their appreciation directly to the artists. We believe that this could have an impact on decreasing prejudice against homeless and serving as an incentive to the artists to keep developing their creativity.
This project was created at UCL as a submission to the CHI Student Design competition and made in collaboration with an activity centre for the underprivileged in London.

Life is stormy for those who have struggled with homelessness. Besides, prejudice from society can hinder their chances to overcome problems, at the same time crippling their confidence. Fortunately, many charity organisations encourage artistic activities by providing the workspace, tools and materials needed. There is an impressive amount of talent out there, but much of it remains unseen. That's what inspired us to create StreetHeart! Through contextual interviews. scenarios, several stages of prototyping and testing we refined the service concept to fulfil a need that remains that is not known by many.
